Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose") McGowan was born on the 5th of September in 1973. She is an American actress. After making her film debut with her brief appearance in the comedy Encino Man (1992), McGowan received more attention for her performance in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995), receiving an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance. Her first big role came in the film horror Scream in the year 1996. The film was followed by film Jawbreaker (1999) and Devil in the Flesh (2000). McGowan's role as Paige Matthews on the WB supernatural drama Charmed (2001-2006) was her most famous role. McGowan was also the main character in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) which for which she received nominations both for the Saturn Award as Best Actress as well as the Scream Award as Best Scream Queen. She appeared in the action-thriller series Chosen (2014) as well as released her debut album, Planet 9, in 2018 and was followed by a revamp in 2020. In 2017 Time recognized McGowan as one of the Silence Breakers, the magazine's Person of the Year because she spoke out about sexual assault and harassment specifically with regard to the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases and the Me Too movement. Brave is her autobiography. Citizen Rose was her documentary series. Both were released in the year 2018.
