Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston) and was a national director at Mary Kay and Freddie Wright as a
pharmacist executive. She was raised in San Diego, California. She began her
professional career as a model in 1980 when she was 14 years old, and also
worked in Paris and Japan. After high school, she made the choice to become an
actress. She got a role on the soap show Santa Barbara (1984), for which she
was nominated three times for an Daytime Emmy. Dane Witherspoon was her fellow
cast participant, and she got married to Dane in 1986. In 1987, she played the
title role in The Princess Bride. Following her departure from Santa Barbara,
she was offered the lead in Denial (1990) as well as Jason Patric. It was
during State of Grace (1990), when she met Sean Penn. They had a daughter Dylan
Frances and a son Hopper Jack. After taking a few months off, Robin was back to
Hollywood and landed one of her most memorable role of her career: She played
Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was a stunning actress and a brilliant actor.
In the following film, she appeared Toys (1992) together in which she starred
alongside Robin Williams. She gave an enthralling performance. In 1994, Wright
was in the blockbuster smash Forrest Gump (1994), with Tom Hanks. In recognition
of her performance as Jenny she earned her a nomination for a Golden Globe
Award. She had a small role in The Crossing Guard (1995) in which she starred
Jack Nicholson. After refusing 14 roles, she was cast in the title role of
MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996), directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring Morgan
Freeman and Stockard Channing. She then starred alongside William Hurt in Erin
Dignam’s Loved (1997).
