Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was the daughter of actors Melissa D. Canaday (New York City) and Edward James Hyland (New York City). She started her career in the industry at age 4 , doing voiceovers and commercial work. Private Parts was her first film. The Object of My Affection (1998) was followed by Another World (1964) where she played "Rain Wolfe", a child discovered in a park, who was fostered and raised by Josie. Sarah would continue to work alongside Amy Carlson ("Josie") numerous times: Falcone (2000) and Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was selected to portray the character of "Audrey Hepburn" in Jennifer Love Hewitt’s The Audrey Hepburn Story (2001). In the same year, she also named "Molly" in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999). It starred Kathy Bates, Audra Mcdonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Gould's Secret (2000) and Falcone (2000). Apart from her TV and film roles, Sarah studied voice, hip-hop, ballet, jazz, tap, Theatre Dance, and performed with her tap and Theatre dance class at "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers.A New York-born , raised girl, Sarah spent much of her time working in film, television, and voicing many radio ads and also traveling with her father Edward James Hyland, when he was employed at many different theaters across the country. Her homeschooling was provided by her mother up to 2nd grade. After that, she attended Public School. Sarah was accepted to PPAS in the 6th grade. This school is where she stayed until graduation in 2008. Sarah at the time was 18, relocated to Los Angeles, CA, in which she was able to land as a pilot under the name "My American Family". Once picked up the name was changed to Modern Family (2009). Sarah is currently "Haley Dunphy", an the eldest Dunphy children. Modern Family (2009) was nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
