Charisma Carpenter

Charisma Carpenter was born on July 23rd, 1970. Cordelia Chase played the character of Cordelia in Buffy the Vampire Slayer's supernatural series (1997-1999) and the spin-off show Angel (1999-04). She also appeared as Kyra in Charmed (2004) as well as Kendall Casablanca's in Veronica Mars (2005-2006), Rebecca Sewell in The Lying Game (2012-2013) as well as Lacy in The Expendables film series (2010-2012). Carpenter was born in Las Vegas. Carpenter is of Spanish (from her maternal grandfather), French and German descent. Carpenter was a student at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. She was also a member of a music and dance troupe that performed in the Las Vegas Valley. Carpenter moved with her family to Rosario Beach in Baja California, Mexico, at age 15. She attended Bonita Vista High School and Chula Vista School of the Creative and Performing Arts. Following graduation, Carpenter traveled throughout Europe. Carpenter returned to San Diego in 1991 and was employed as an aerobics instructor, a videostore clerk, and property manager. She was a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers football club in the year 1991. She relocated to Los Angeles in 1992. In 1991, Henry Hubbard Jr. assaulted her and two of her male friends while swimming in San Diego. He was a former San Diego cop and serial rapist who attempted to subdue them using a gun. The two of them, Henry Hubbard Jr. and her friends were shot during the battle. Both were able to escape. Hubbard was arrested, found guilty and sentenced to 56 years in prison for a series of rapes and robberies. Carpenter carried Hubbard's police-issued flashlight from the beach which he'd left at the scene, and the flashlight turned out to be a key piece of evidence against him.
