Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991 is an English actress. She also works as a model, director, activist as well as an actress. Her most well-known character is the role of Ginny Weasley which is the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the character for a decade before she was cast in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). Wright was in numerous independent films after the show. These films were not well-received. In 2013, she made her stage debut in Peter Ustinov’s The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse. She also earned a bachelor's degree in filmmaking from the University of the Arts London. In 2012, Wright established BonBonLumiere and began producing short films. Her first film was directed by her that was a coming-of-age-drama Separate We Come and Separate We Go (2012). It was released at the Cannes Film Festival to great praise from critics. She also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films focused on landscape and emotion as the themes. Wright's trilogy Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa’s Ankles (2018) The film stars Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and based upon A. S. Byatt’s The Matisse Stories. She also produced music videos for Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn and Sophie Lowe. Wright is an ambassador for Greenpeace and Lumos, and has been recognized for her environmental advocacy.
